Living Your Life On Purpose With Purpose

I hope you took the time to do the activity on Day 1. (In case you missed it you can view it here). By now you should have reflected on what living on purpose means to you. Today I want to to talk about the importance of knowing your purpose.


Why is it important that you find your purpose?

Purposeful living gives you the freedom to participate in life knowing that the things you are doing are having a positive impact in the world. It does not matter how big or small your accomplishments, just by you completing them you can impact the world.

Why is it important to find your purpose. When you discover, embrace and live your purpose it gives your life meaning. When you live a meaningful life, you feel that you are doing what is right because it supports your core value system. When you do what you feel is right it increases your feeling of self-worth. Ultimately all of this will lead to an overall happier and healthier life.


Living a life with purpose gives your life meaning.

When you decide your life’s purpose and begin to actively work at it you may just begin to find yourself energized. Each step that you take towards your goal it will bring you personal satisfaction. You will also find that even if the work isn’t easy, you are able to get things done a little easier. The most important thing that may happen is working on your purpose adds meaning to your life. You are no longer just blindly walking through life.

Living a life with purpose allows you to live your core values.

We all have a core value system. These are the thoughts that guide us through life. It helps decide what is right or wrong. It tells you the things that you feel are worth doing in your life. When you are focused on living a purposeful life you will find that everything begins to line up. Your actions that you plan each day will automatically line up with your core values. When your day to day actions support your core values, you will gain a stronger sense of self-worth.

Living a life with purpose allows you to live a happier and healthier life.

Ultimately working consistently on your purpose will not only make you more productive, your self-worth is stronger, your overall mental and physical health can not help but be positively impacted. Living with purpose is good for your overall health and your quality of life. Being needed, being helpful, and adding value to the lives of others has a measurable effect on your physical and mental health. Living a purposeful life decreases your risk of heart disease and stroke, while it is also protecting you against depression symptoms.  In fact, one of the better ways to fight depression is to find meaning and purpose in what you are doing each and every day.

Consider this:

Having a purpose and knowing exactly what your values are will add additional years to your life.
